Brief Description

GRANT FOR THE STUDY OF HEMATOPOIETIC STEM CELL TRANSPLANTATION AND CELL THERAPIES IN HEMATOLOGIC MALIGNANCIES

In honor of John Hansen, this grant is intended to provide funding support to promising and developing researchers to advance the understanding of complications and therapeutic strategies in context of hematopoietic cell transplantation and/or cellular therapies for hematologic malignancies. The grant is funded by the DKMS Stiftung Leben Spenden (Foundation for Giving Life) and administered by the DKMS gGmbH.

The John Hansen Research Grant provides four grants consists of a maximum of € 240,000 ($ 270,000) made available over a period of three years (maximum € 80,000 annually; $ 90,000), subject to adequate progress of the research. Each funding period runs from July 1st to June 30th. Up to four grant awardees will be selected from among the eligible applications.

RESEARCH SCOPE
The research proposal must address issues on blood cancer and hematopoietic transplantation. Various aspects may be covered including but not restricted to transplant immunology, stem cell donation, cell manufacturing, diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.”
