Brief Description

The University of Maryland, Baltimore Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (UMB ICTR) is pleased to announce the fourth call for applications for the UMB ICTR/CTSA KL2 Mentored Career Development Award. This award is for academic year 2022-2023.  The purpose of the KL2 is to provide support for clinical and translational research training and career development of persons in relevant disciplines and professions from six of the professional schools on the UMB campus (Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Social Work) as well as from the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP). The Request for Applications (RFA) is also attached to this note.

The KL2 awardee will receive support for three years.  For the CTSA KL2 scholar, the initial two years is provided by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) joint partnership between the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University.  In addition, one scholar from each of the following 5 participating UMB schools  (Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Social Work) and from UMCP will be selected as Institutionally Supported or Internal KL2 Scholars. The initial two years will be supported by the scholars’ respective school.  For both types of scholarsthe funding for the 3rd year is provided by the applicant’s home division/department or School.
