Brief Description

The Laure Aurelian Biomedical Research Endowment award is accepting submissions.  Please see the attached announcementNominations are due by April 5th.  

 

Eligible award candidates should be: 

  • early career scholars either ≤4 years as assistant professor OR ≤8 years since MD and/or PhD degree 

 

And meet one of the following criteria:

  1. a woman scholar conducting innovative basic or translational biomedical research
  2. an investigator conducting innovative basic or translational studies in women’s health*
  3. an exceptional mentor of junior women biomedical researchers (e.g., graduate students or postdoctoral fellows)*

* Criteria b and c are not restricted to women.  All faculty meeting one of these criteria are eligible.

 

Each of the following should be submitted as its own PDF document.  Nominations should be submitted here

 

∙A nominating letter from a senior faculty member at the nominating institution of 1000 words maximum 

∙A CV for the candidate 

∙A one-page personal statement from the candidate with information to be designated by the Selection Committee (details can be found on the website)

 

Each year, an award will be given to four scholars, two at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and two at Stanford University School of Medicine. Award recipients will be honored at an annual event at their respective universities and each of the four annual awardees will be invited to present a talk at a joint event for scholars from both UMSOM and Stanford Medicine aimed at fostering academic dialogue.
