Brief Description

Promoting training in the UMGCCC education pipeline and the involvement of PIO members in mentoring of these trainees are important aims of the CRTEC and PED (IDEA) programs that are essential to ultimately increase diversity in the cancer research and healthcare workforce. Towards this goal, UMGCCC will provide up to $1,200/trainee to offset expenses (e.g. supplies, stipends) for PIO faculty to mentor undergraduate or high school trainees. The trainee pool will primarily be comprised of those admitted into RAMP, NSIP and DICR programs. Funding for trainees from outside of these programs will be considered as resources permit. This service will foster continued growth in this area and strengthen our P30.
