Brief Description
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) just announced two pilot grant funding opportunities: the UMB ICTR Accelerated Translational Incubator Pilot (ATIP) Grant Program and the UMB ICTR Community Engagement Research (CEnR) Pilot Grant Program. Additional details can be found below and in the attached documents. Lastly, The Brain and Behavior Institute (BBI) at UMCP will host an information session for these funding opportunities and UMB faculty are welcome to attend (see information and registration link below).
 
UMB ICTR ATIP & CEnR Pilot Grant Program
  • The UMB ATIP Grant program will provide starter funds for projects specifically focused on innovative, translational research that involve multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary collaborations among faculty from the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Law, Social Work, Graduate School, UMBC, and UMCP.
  • The UMB CEnR Pilot Grant will provide starter funds for projects specifically focused on innovative Community-Engaged Research (CEnR). This round will test novel approaches to addressing health problems through community-engaged implementation that involve faculty from the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Law, Social Work, Graduate School, UMBC, UMCP, and UMB-community partnerships.
  • Funding period & amount (May 1, 2023 – April 30, 2024) with awards of up to $50,000 each.
  • Application deadline: All proposals must be submitted electronically through the ICTR website by 5 PM EST November 11, 2022

ATIP Information & Development Session
This session is sponsored by the University of Maryland College Park and UMB faculty are welcome to attend.
The Brain and Behavior Institute (BBI) will host an information and development session on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. on Zoom. Agenda will include unpacking the review criteria and discussion of how to enhance the competitiveness of your proposal.
The event panel will feature Dr. Peter Swaan, Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UMB, Dr. Elizabeth Quinlan, Professor in the Department of Biology, Clark Leadership Chair in Neuroscience and Director of the BBI, and Dr. Joo Yun Jun, Grants Development Specialist for the Neuroscience and Cognitive Science Program and for BBI.
