Brief Description

 

1. Addressing Cancer Health Disparities Through Evidence-Based Cancer Nursing Research (RE42)

Purpose: To support oncology nursing research addressing cancer health disparities, including in the topic areas of breast, colorectal, lung or prostate cancer.

Funds: Grant up to $100,000 will be awarded with funding period of up to two years. 

Eligibility: The principal investigator must be a registered nurse actively involved in some aspect of cancer patient care, education or research and be PhD or DNSc prepared that has received and completed at least one research study of at least $50,000 as PI. Membership in ONS is not required.

Research funding awarded under this grant program is in part generously supported by a grant to the Oncology Nursing Foundation from Merck.

 


2. Addressing the Adverse Effects of Immunotherapy and Emerging Therapies on Cancer Patients (RE43)

Purpose: To support oncology nursing research in symptom science addressing the adverse effects of immunotherapy and emerging therapies used in the treatment of cancer patients. Symptom Science in immunotherapy and emerging therapies has been identified as one of the top cancer nursing research priorities in need of new knowledge.

Funds: Grant up to $150,000 will be awarded with funding period of up to two years.

Eligibility: The principal investigator must be a registered nurse actively involved in some aspect of cancer patient care, education or research and be PhD or DNSc prepared that has received and completed at least one research study of at least $50,000 as PI. Membership in ONS is not required.
