Brief Description

An area of promising research growth for UMSOM lies in encouraging PI teams to submit applications for large NIH awards such as P01, P30, P50, U19, U54, and similar awards. In recognition of this need, and of the intense effort and resources required for these submissions, Dr. Reece has initiated the Large Grant Acceleration Program. The LGAP is designed to provide multiple types of support for investigators planning a new NIH center or program grant. This program is only designed to support the submission of new awards and is not available for competitive renewals.

Support is available to select teams via:

1) One time $10,000 seed grants
2) Administrative support for assembling proposals
3) Contingent Institutional Support
4) $30,000 in unrestricted funds for any team that is awarded a new grant that was submitted through the LGAP Initiative within the next 3 years for the PI to use at their discretion.

Further information about the LGAP program, including frequently asked questions, can be found here.
